About Us
The Lynn Police Department is a small department consisting of 2
proactive full-time officers.  We also have two reserve officers, they are
Officer Matthew Cain,  and Officer Travis Jones, who each work atleast
an 8 hour shift every-other week.
Both full-time officers currently work a 5 and 2 rotation, working 9 hour
shifts, and are subject to call outs while off-duty.  Our officers respond to
emergency and routine calls and are used for mutual aid with surrounding
departments.  Both full-time officer have completed the
Indiana Law
Enforcement Academy, located in Plainfield, IN.
Lynn, IN is small rural town and has a population of 1100 citizens.   Lynn
is located at the junction of US 27 and US 36 which is located in
Randolph
County, shown on the map below, bordering Ohio.

In May of 2003, Deputy Marshal Jonathan Nicholson was
involved with ending a vehicle pursuit with his stop sticks.   
After submitting his report to get his Stop Sticks replaced,
Deputy Marshal Nicholson was entered into a contest of all
officers that had used their stop sticks that month to end
pursuits.   Deputy Marshal Nicholson was choosen for the "Hit
of the Month" for the Midwest in May of 2003 and was entered
into the "Hit of the Year" contest for 2003.
